NBA Targets: March 20th

WATCH: HE’S ON FIRE NIKOLA VUCEVIC

We’ve got a seven-game slate here on Monday night with a couple of high-priced studs and a lot of value to break down. Here are some of my top ones to target at each position.

POINT GUARD

Studs

Russell Westbrook vs. GSW ($13,300) – There’s no doubting that Russ has to be the PG stud on this slate, as he will be amped up for a showdown with the Warriors, even without KD in uniform. He’s lit them up for nearly a 50-point game and a triple-double in his last two tries, so you can be sure he’ll come out aggressive. There are a lot of other options here if you don’t want to pay up, though.

Other Options – John Wall ($9,600), Stephen Curry ($9,400), Kemba Walker ($7,900), Dennis Schroder ($7,100)

Value

Jameer Nelson @ HOU ($5,500) — Nelson went through a really tough stretch, despite still playing a decent amount of minutes recently. But the veteran bounced back in a big way on Saturday, going off for 43.75 DKFP in 39 minutes against this very Rockets team. I wouldn’t expect him to repeat, but anything even close would be great value. A matchup with the Rockets is always great for pace of play.

Other Options – Lou Williams ($5,500), Austin Rivers ($3,800)

SHOOTING GUARD

Studs

James Harden vs. DEN ($12,700) — Similar to Westbrook, the stud in this case is pretty obvious in my opinion. Harden’s in a zone right now with triple-doubles in each of his last four games — three of them for more than 73 DKFP, including 73.5 DKFP over the weekend against the Nuggets. Let those numbers sink in. Harden is a tough fade against such a poor defense.

Other Options – Will Barton ($7,300)

Value

Nik Stauskas @ ORL ($3,400) — Stauskas has been a big party of the 76ers’ rotation recently, but his production hasn’t been nearly as consistent. He’s playing very well in his last two games, though, posting 25.75 and 28.5 DKFP against the Mavericks and Celtics respectively. If he can stay hot against a poor Magic team, he’d make for a great value once again on Monday.

Other Options – Jamal Murray ($4,800), Andre Iguodala ($4,600)

SMALL FORWARD

Studs

Carmelo Anthony @ LAC ($8,200) — ‘Melo will have to deal with the return of Kristaps Porzingis, which could potentially hurt his value. But Anthony’s still put up 41+ DKFP in his last two games with Porzingis on the floor, so there’s no need to avoid him simply for that reason. The Clippers rank in the bottom-10 in the league in DKFP allowed to SFs, so the matchup isn’t as bad as it seems either. Overall, it’s a weak night at SF, though, so you may want to pay attention to values.

Other Options — Will Barton ($7,300)

Value

Taurean Prince @ CHA ($3,500) — With Paul Millsap out for the Hawks, Prince will likely be one of the most popular value plays on tonight’s slate. He’d already played 29+ minutes in three out of the Hawks’ last four games, scoring 32 DKFP in two of those contests. Without Atlanta’s primary scorer, the rookie will be called upon to step up.

Other Options – Joe Johnson ($4,200), Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot ($3,800)

POWER FORWARD

Studs

Dario Saric @ ORL ($7,800) — With Joel Embiid out of the picture, Saric’s been an absolute fantasy stud. He’s now topped 41 DKFP in three of his last four, including a pair of 50 DKFP games. Orlando’s been struggling against PFs since shifting Aaron Gordon over to that position, so Saric will have another nice opportunity on Monday.

Other Options – Blake Griffin ($8,100), Draymond Green ($7,900)

Value

Ersan Ilyasova @ CHA ($5,000) – Same situation as Prince here. With Millsap out, Ilyasova’s going to take over the starting PF role for Atlanta. Having scored 37 DKFP in 27 minutes against Portland on Saturday, Ilyasova is a pretty attractive play on this slate.

Other Options – Juancho Hernangomez ($4,500), Matt Barnes ($4,300)

CENTER

Studs

DeAndre Jordan vs. NYK ($6,900) – DJ’s been doing some damage recently, essentially dropping 40 DKFP on the Cavs, 50 DKFP on the Bucks, and 60 DKFP on the lowly 76ers. That’s a pretty high ceiling for a guy under $7K, particularly in a matchup with the Knicks — who rank just 27th vs. centers this season and are giving up over 63 DKFP to big men over the last five games.

Other Options – Nikola Jokic ($10,200), Nikola Vucevic ($7,700), Dwight Howard ($7,000), Al Horford ($6,900)

Value

Nene Hilario vs. DEN ($4,000) – Nene played 24 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday and scored 25.25 DKFP. It was his seventh outing with more than 20 DKFP in his last nine games, which is an excellent rate of exceeding value. It’s worth mentioning that Richaun Holmes ($5,100) will be the best value here if Jahlil Okafor is confirmed out.

Other Options – Richaun Holmes ($5,100), Marcin Gortat ($5,000)
